Coaches are USA Swimming, Safe Sport and Athlete Protection trained and certified as well as First Aid, CPR, and USAS Coaches Safety trained.

Stacy Cassiday Head Coach

Stacy has been swimming all her life and her accomplishments are many. She is a 7 time Illinois State Champion who held 3 state records from 1981-1985 for Evanston Township High School. During her collegiate career, Stacy was part of the NCAA Champion team 3 times at the University of Texas with her highest individual place being 2nd in the 500 Free. Stacy is also a 14 time Collegiate All-American, 2 time Olympic Trial participant and 6 time National Team member. In between all her swimming accomplishments, she also has a Masters in Counseling Psychology and a Masters in School Administration.

 
Kelly Cantwell Phoenix Coach
Kelly has spent most of her life in or around the pool. Kelly started swimming competitively at age 7 for Barrington Swim Club, and continued swimming though college at Denison University. During her Junior year, Kelly was part of the team that won Denison's first ever Division III National Championship, breaking Kenyon's 17 year winning streak. During her college swimming career, Kelly was a 7 time All-American, National Champion, and school & national record holder. While in graduate school, Kelly returned to BSC as a coach and continued coaching while also working locally as a high school social worker. Outside of the pool, Kelly loves traveling with her family, hiking, running and cooking.
Adam Clementi Blaze Coach

Adam has a lifelong love for the water and a special place in his heart for the Alligators. He started swimming with the Alligators in high school and continued at Miami University in Ohio as a sprinter on the Men's Varsity team earning MAC Swimmer of the Week honors during his senior year. Upon finishing school he continued competitive swimming and immediately started coaching with Alligators as well as Saint Viator's Swimming and Water Polo Varsity teams, which he continued for 11 years. During that time he married his former Alligator teammate, started a family and is thrilled to now have an Alligator swimmer of his own!

Grace Dembowski Bionic, Blaze, & Masters Coach

Grace began swimming with River Trails Park District, at the age of 6. She continued swimming, joining Alligators at 14. Grace holds the Alligator record for Girls 13/14 800 Freestyle. She also placed 9th twice in the 800-meter Freestyle at Age Group State and 10th at Senior State. Grace swam throughout high school and has a record at Prospect High School in the 200 Freestyle Relay (4). Currently, she’s studying surgical technology and will graduate in May 2024. Outside of coaching Grace enjoys staying active, cooking and traveling.

Russell Mathews

Russell began swimming with his local park district team, the Pioneer Piranhas, at the age of 7. He continued swimming, joining Alligators as a Phoenix Gator (previously Gold) at the age of 10. Coach Russell swam through High School at Rolling Meadows specializing in the 100 BR, 200 IM, and anchor for the 4x100 Freestyle Relay. He currently attends Purdue University where he still finds time to swim with their club swim team. Outside of the pool, Coach Russell is the Dir. of Broadcast Operations for a local video production company and an in-house video engineer with Purdue University Athletics. He also serves as the Webmaster for the Alligator Aquatics web platforms.

Michelle McEnerney Quicksand, Phoenix, & Blaze Coach

Michelle first started swimming at the age of 8 on her local park district swim team. She then joined Alligator Aquatics in 2003 where she swam for many years concreting her love of swimming and meeting some of her best friends! She also swam on her Varsity High School team where she became captain her Senior year. She also played Water Polo and earned an All-State title her Senior year. Michelle hung up her goggle when she attended college, but continued to swim for exercise. Currently, Michelle is a 4th grade teacher. In her free time, she enjoys being active, running, reading, and traveling.

Jenny Zapler Bionic, Quicksand, & Masters Coach

Jenny's love for swimming began at the local park district swim team in her hometown of Carol Stream. At age 11, she moved on to swim with a USA Swimming sanctioned club to further her love of the sport. There, she swam for eight years. Jenny continued her swimming carrer at the collegiate level at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Upon graduating from UIC, Jenny began coaching swimming at all levels. Currently, Jenny has a Masters in Secondary Education and works at a local elementary school. When Jenny is not teaching or on the pool deck, she loves to read, spend time with family, work out, and cook.
